The military has a long history of development in Alaska that reaches back before statehood. Former Governor Wally Hickel even wrote a book entitled: “Why War” which pointed out that most of the critical infrastructure that still remains in the state was created by the military during wartime. Governor Hickel’s point was that we should develop Alaska in a thoughtful and deliberate manner before war breaks out.

We agree with Governor Hickel and can develop community plans that synchronize and integrate well with military plans. This ends up being beneficial to everybody from individuals within Alaska’s rural communities up to the National-level leadership in the Pentagon.
